The Grand Tour - Classic European Destinations

The techniques used to create these beautiful photochrom prints in the 1890s did not produce the sharp, crisp images like the photos of today, however, the appeal of these old images is that they sometimes look more painterly than photos, and a have a unique atmospheric charm.
The prints below (and others in our collection) have all been repaired and restored.

Eiffel Tower, Paris, France

Windmills, Holland

Forum Boario, Rome, Italy

The Leaning Tower, Pisa, Italy

Gondola by Moonlight, Venice, Italy.

Nymphs in lake, Baden, Germany

Florence, Italy.

Arc de Triomphe, Paris, France

All the above images are available as prints in our 'Vintage Photographs of Places' collection on our website. Click on individual pics above to see more details or to purchase.
